The Green Residence for skilled employees is a renewable five-year UAE residence permit that does not require a sponsor inside the country, but it is not automatically available to every employee. The applicant needs a valid UAE employment contract, an occupation classified at level 1, 2 or 3 under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a monthly salary of at least AED 15,000.
Who this skilled-employee Green Residence is for
This route is for a skilled employee who already has a job in the UAE. It is different from a jobseeker visit visa used to enter and look for work, and from a virtual work residence for someone employed outside the UAE. Although no sponsor inside the UAE is required, the skilled-employee category still depends on a valid employment contract and the relevant work permit.

It also notes that the issuance fee rises by AED 100 annually when residence exceeds two years.
