UAE Entry Visa for Thai Nationals Abroad: 14-Day and 60-Day Options
Thai ordinary-passport holders living in certain countries may now have a specific 14-day or 60-day UAE entry visa route. The June 2026 expansion is useful, but it is not an automatic visa for every Thai citizen: the applicant must also hold a qualifying visa, residence permit, or status from one of the countries named by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).

What changed for Thai nationals in June 2026
On 25 June 2026, ICP announced that Thailand was added to the nationalities eligible for its Entry Visa for Nationals of Certain Countries. Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa were also added alongside India. The update covers two separate entry visa categories: a 14-day stay and a 60-day stay. It is designed for eligible ordinary-passport holders who hold qualifying immigration status issued by specified countries while residing outside their country of nationality. Living in a listed country without the required status is not enough. This is an eligibility route, not a promise of issuance; ICP reviews each application and supporting document.
Who may qualify under the Thai-national route
The current ICP service pages say the route is limited to Thai ordinary-passport holders with qualifying status abroad. Accompanying family members must be checked individually against ICP's eligible-nationality and qualifying-status conditions. The qualifying status depends on the issuing country: • United States, European Union, or United Kingdom: a valid visa or residence permit; a valid US Green Card is also listed. • Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or New Zealand: a valid residence permit. The beneficiary's passport must be valid for at least six months. A Thai passport by itself is not enough for this specific route. Someone living in Thailand without one of the listed visas or residence permits should compare other visitor routes instead of assuming eligibility.
14-day UAE entry visa: validity, extension and listed fees
ICP currently lists a 30-day pre-entry validity period for the 14-day category, meaning the issued entry visa must be used within the dates shown on the permit. The permitted stay is 14 days from entry. The visa can be extended once for the same 14-day period, subject to the extension process and approval. The current service page lists an AED 100 issuance fee and an AED 100 smart-services fee. ICP separately lists AED 250 for the eligible 14-day extension. Treat these as published fee components, not an all-inclusive quotation; always check the payment screen and current service page before submitting.
60-day UAE entry visa: longer stay, no extension
The 60-day category also has a 30-day pre-entry validity period on the current ICP service page. Once the holder enters the UAE, the permitted stay is 60 days. Unlike the 14-day category, the 60-day visa is single-entry and non-extendable. ICP currently lists an AED 250 issuance fee plus an AED 100 smart-services fee. Both the 14-day and 60-day service pages show a service-completion duration of two days, but this is an official service estimate for a complete application—not a guaranteed approval or delivery time. Do not make non-refundable travel plans until the issued permit has been checked.
Documents and official application channel
The published document list is concise: passport, personal photo, and a copy of the qualifying visa or residence permit. In practice, names, passport details, expiry dates, and the qualifying status should be clear and consistent across every file. ICP may request corrections or additional evidence for an individual case. The service pages direct applicants to ICP Smart Services and currently mark access as requiring UAE Pass. If you cannot access the service from abroad or are unsure which authority should handle the trip, use ICP's official support channel before paying anyone. VisaDub.ai can help organize a document-readiness review, but only the responsible UAE authority can decide the application.
Important limits before you book
This update should not be described as visa-free entry or a universal visa on arrival for Thai citizens. It is a pre-arranged entry visa route with nationality, passport, foreign-status, document, and authority checks. ICP currently lists an AED 50 daily fine when the permitted stay or entry visa expires. Check the exact entry-by date and stay-until date on the issued document, and leave or complete any officially permitted extension before expiry. Rules, fees, and evidence requirements can change, so recheck the ICP announcement and service page immediately before applying.
Which option should you compare next?
Start with three questions: Do you hold a Thai ordinary passport? Is your qualifying visa or residence permit still valid and from a listed country? Is a 14-day or 60-day single trip the right fit? If any answer is uncertain, compare the standard tourist visa route rather than forcing this category. A short route review can help you prepare the right documents and questions before you submit, while keeping the final eligibility decision with ICP or the responsible Dubai authority.
Frequently asked questions
Does every Thai passport holder qualify for this UAE entry visa?
No. This specific ICP route is limited to Thai ordinary-passport holders who also have a qualifying valid visa, residence permit, or US Green Card connected to one of the listed countries. Each application remains subject to authority review.
Which countries can provide the qualifying foreign status?
ICP currently lists the United States, European Union Member States, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and New Zealand. The type of accepted status differs: valid visas or residence permits are listed for the US, EU, and UK, while a valid residence permit is listed for the other named countries.
What is the difference between the 14-day and 60-day options?
The 14-day visa permits a 14-day stay and can currently be extended once for the same period. The 60-day visa permits a 60-day single-entry stay and is non-extendable. Both currently list a 30-day pre-entry validity period.
What fees does ICP currently list?
The 14-day service page lists AED 100 for issuance plus AED 100 for smart services. The 60-day page lists AED 250 for issuance plus AED 100 for smart services. These are current published components, not a guaranteed total for every case.
Which documents are listed for the application?
ICP currently lists a passport, personal photo, and copy of the qualifying visa or residence permit. The passport must be valid for at least six months, and the authority may request case-specific corrections or additional evidence.
Is the two-day service duration guaranteed?
No. The ICP pages show a service-completion duration of two days, but processing and issuance depend on a complete application and authority review. Do not treat that estimate as guaranteed approval or travel clearance.
